2009-12-18You sometimes have people run for office that don't know what they are getting into and Chad DuBree is one of them. I recently received all the meeting attendance sheets since April and noticed that Mr. DuBree attended meetings pretty good at first. Well in the last couple of months when he needs to be there during the budget meetings he has been absent. What kind of representation is he giving the people of the village if he is not at the meetings. He has missed almost 25% of the meetings that the board has had since he was elected. I didn't miss this many meetings in 8 years. He said all sorts of things in his information that he passed out during election but he sure isn't living up to what he said.  In the next couple of weeks I will be distributing this information to the people in the Village so they can see what was said and to show you that I'm not just blowing smoke. He wasn't even at the last board meeting from what I understand. I EXPECT REPRESENTATION AND I'M NOT GETTING IT.

2009-12-03 Well another dumb move by the Village Officials. On Monday night John  Cabello a candidate for Representative had a town hall meeting at Kinnikinnick School and the only board member that showed up was Stacy Malicoat. Stan Smith was working so he is excused,  but we elected these people to do a job and they seem to just blow off important meetings. It is important that the Village stay on good terms with all levels of State Government so we continue to get state money for projects in Roscoe. Weather you agree with what someone is saying or not we still need to listen and get along. I went to this meeting and this man has good ideas and a drive that you don't see in someone that has been in office for a long time. Most of the candidates that are up for election have been in office for many years and look what kind of shape this country is in now. We need young blood in these offices to spur new ideas. Maybe these board members that are to lazy to show up for important meetings shouldn't have a future with the Village remember this at the next election please.Cry

2009-11-23 Attached are the agendas for the meetings tonight and Tuesday. It dosen't appear that they have much on the agenda except wanting to charge you more for zoning permits. I thought we paid taxes to have these services and we have employees there to do the job already so why do we need to raise the fees.  Charging for a written zoning clarification is a good idea that takes time. But this is still something that we pay taxes for and we have hired a person to do this for the Village so why is it needed. Justify this to the people before just imposing another unreasonable fee on us!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2009-11-15 Last week I noticed that the village had on the agenda for the committee meeting to hire a Freedom Of Information Officer. What the hell are these people thinking they probably only have two or three requests a year and they want to hire someone to do this job. We pay and attorney every month let him ro the job. The people in town need to stand up and put these people in place and tell them that money does not grow on trees. If they need to have a FOIA  officer appointment one of the employees to do it.

Also on the agenda was something about garbage cans not being placed on the curb more then 24 hours before pickup and being taken in after pickup. Now we are going to be garbage police I guess. Its not a bad idea but give us a break and work on things that are going to bring our taxes down instead of just going through the motions and making busy work for themselves.

The people in the Village need to contact the chairmen of the committees. The board only has one chair now and that is the village president and other then trying to control everything that goes on in the village he is not accomplishing anything. He should be taking care of the bigger picture like economic development and bringing more tax dollars into the Village. I know we have land valued at over 4 million dollars in the village that is being farmed and should not be and the property owner only pays about $400.00 in taxes this doesn't seem right  to me. I we have to pay our share of the taxes he should have to also.

2009-10-24 Well I just heard that some of the Board members are building shrines to themselves in the new building. A 400sf office is a little bit much for one person especially when some of the other employees are going to be in a what looks to be a closet in the new building. How much room does one man need when he is only in the building part time and . I heard it didn't cost anything to do this but it will in the long run when we en up putting the walls back in because we need more offices. Come on people lets get real and quit wasting the tax payers money on projects that haven't been authorized by the rest of the board and that are not needed for the Village to function. Undecided

2009-10-16 Well last night the board voted against the ordnance that meant nothing and hopefully they will quit wasting time on this and move on. Some former board members stood up and said that the former board voted against putting the range in and, this is not true. The board never voted against putting the range. We decided not to equip the range at this time but we never voted against the range.

The board decided to also donate $500.00 to the fight against breast cancer but Trustee Sue Petty was against doing this because it didn't look right and violated the separation of church and state rules because this fund is associated with Saint Anthony Hospital. If this rule is followed to the letter cities and townships would have to quite taking care of cemetery's because the headstones have crosses on them.

Come on Wake UP and Take Care Of the Bigger Issues in town and let The Supreme Court Worry About Issues Like this. The founding fathers in my opinion did not mean for this to be used in this type of issue. Using tax dollars to find a cure for cancer is a worthy cause and a proper way of using tax dollars then some of the things the board uses the money for. This could be the $500.00 that could makes the difference.

If they didn't want the gun range why didn't they decided this before they spent all the extra money making it a gun range. The board in there ultimate wisdom planned for a gun range built the walls for one and then decided to waste more money on and ordnance that means nothing as it can be changed at any time. Wake up people and quit wasting the tax payers money. A place for police officers to train is important and this should be completed when the money becomes available in the future.

To have the village attorney make and ordinance for this was insane and a waste of money. everyone in town needs to stand up and tell them to take care of business and quit being children.

Trustee DuBree Quit Complaining

 TRUSTEE DUBREE'S LETTER TO NEWSPAPER

2009-10-01FOR A MAN THAT SAYS THAT EVERYTHING IS GOING WRONG IN THE VILLAGE I HEAR LITTLE OUT OF HIM AT BOARD MEETINGS. HE SAID THE PEOPLE PUT HIM IN OFFICE TO WATCH THIS KIND OF SPENDING BUT HE STILL SAYS NOTHING WHEN THE BILLS ARE PRESENTED AND HE VOTES TO APPROVE THEM.  IF SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT SPEAK UP AT THE MEETING DON'T JUST SIT IN YOUR CHAIR AND SAY NOTHING.  ALSO THE FINANCE CHAIR DOESN'T HAVE CONTROL OVER THE MONEY SPENT IN THE VILLAGE THE BOARD HAS THAT CONTROL. WAKE UP AND QUIT COMPLAINING AND TAKE A STAND ON SOMETHING INSTEAD OF SENDING LETTERS TO THE NEWS PAPER BEFORE YOU TALK TO THE PEOPLE YOU ARE THERE TO WORK WITH.

I KNOW FROM WORKING AROUND BOARD MEMBERS AND BEING ONE FOR EIGHT YEARS THAT THE VILLAGE WILL WORK BETTER THROUGH COMUNICATION THEN IT WILL IF YOU ARE JUST BITCHING ABOUT EVERYTHING AND NOT TRING TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM BY TALKING IT OUT.  IF YOU ARE HAVING A PROBLEM GETTING THINGS ACROSS THEN MAYBE YOU ARE IN THE WRONG POSITION AND SHOULD STICK WITH THE ICE CREAM STORE.

2009-10-02 Another night of complaining by Mr DuBree this time about not having the audit report. He said that everything was suppose to be in there notebooks at the meeting, which is normally right. How do you get and audit report at a meeting and expect to understand it and ask questions about it if you only have 5 Min. to read it. The Village President advised him that had been put in if mail box at the village Hall and he should have picked it up and read it before the meeting. This shows just how clueless this Trustee is when it comes to what is happening in the village. Go fill ice cream cones!!!!!

2008-05-03 Most Village residents know little about what is really occurring in the Village. Most of the news that you get is from news papers or TV, and we all know that they only report about half of the truth and tend to make a mountain out of a mole hill. If you know how to twist the words and only report half truths people can make all kinds of assumptions. With this site I hope to keep you informed and updated about what is really happening in the village.
