2009-11-23 Attached are the agendas for the meetings tonight and Tuesday. It dosen't appear that
they have much on the agenda except wanting to charge you more for zoning permits. I thought we paid taxes to have these services
and we have employees there to do the job already so why do we need to raise the fees. Charging for a written zoning
clarification is a good idea that takes time. But this is still something that we pay taxes for and we have hired a person
to do this for the Village so why is it needed. Justify this to the people before just imposing another unreasonable fee on
us!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2009-11-15 Last week I
noticed that the village had on the agenda for the committee meeting to hire a Freedom Of Information Officer. What the hell
are these people thinking they probably only have two or three requests a year and they want to hire someone to do this job.
We pay and attorney every month let him ro the job. The people in town need to stand up and put these people in place
and tell them that money does not grow on trees. If they need to have a FOIA officer appointment one of the employees
to do it.
Also on the agenda was something
about garbage cans not being placed on the curb more then 24 hours before pickup and being taken in after pickup. Now we are
going to be garbage police I guess. Its not a bad idea but give us a break and work on things that are going to bring our
taxes down instead of just going through the motions and making busy work for themselves.
The people in the Village need to contact the chairmen of the committees. The board only
has one chair now and that is the village president and other then trying to control everything that goes on in the village he is
not accomplishing anything. He should be taking care of the bigger picture like economic development and bringing more tax
dollars into the Village. I know we have land valued at over 4 million dollars in the village that is being farmed and should
not be and the property owner only pays about $400.00 in taxes this doesn't seem right to me. I we have to pay
our share of the taxes he should have to also.
2009-10-24 Well I just heard that some of the Board
members are building shrines to themselves in the new building. A 400sf office is a little bit much for one person especially
when some of the other employees are going to be in a what looks to be a closet in the new building. How much room does
one man need when he is only in the building part time and . I heard it didn't cost anything to do this but it will
in the long run when we en up putting the walls back in because we need more offices. Come on people lets get real and quit
wasting the tax payers money on projects that haven't been authorized by the rest of the board and that are not needed for
the Village to function.
2009-10-16 Well last night the board voted
against the ordnance that meant nothing and hopefully they will quit wasting time on this and move on. Some former board members
stood up and said that the former board voted against putting the range in and, this is not true. The board never voted against
putting the range. We decided not to equip the range at this time but we never voted against the range.
The board decided to also donate $500.00 to the fight against breast cancer
but Trustee Sue Petty was against doing this because it didn't look right and violated the separation of church and state
rules because this fund is associated with Saint Anthony Hospital. If this rule is followed to the letter cities and townships
would have to quite taking care of cemetery's because the headstones have crosses on them.
Come on Wake UP and Take Care Of the Bigger Issues in town and let The Supreme Court Worry
About Issues Like this. The founding fathers in my opinion did not mean for this to be used in this type of issue. Using tax
dollars to find a cure for cancer is a worthy cause and a proper way of using tax dollars then some of the things the board
uses the money for. This could be the $500.00 that could makes the difference.
If they didn't want the gun
range why didn't they decided this before they spent all the extra money making it a gun range. The board in there ultimate
wisdom planned for a gun range built the walls for one and then decided to waste more money on and ordnance that means nothing
as it can be changed at any time. Wake up people and quit wasting the tax payers money. A place for police officers to train
is important and this should be completed when the money becomes available in the future.
To have the village attorney make and ordinance for this was insane and a waste of money.
everyone in town needs to stand up and tell them to take care of business and quit being children.
