On this page I hope to keep you up to date with what's happening in the Police Department. So, watch this close for crime alerts in the village. I will also list Arrest information that I get through the Freedom Of Information Act from the police department.

Speed Limit on Main Street Lowered to 30 MPH

Crime Alert

2008-05-06 I was just informed that we have someone driving around our area and pretending to be a police officer and stopping people. It is never a good idea to stop on a country road or on an unlighted street unless it is a marked squad car. If someone tries to stop you, drive to the police department and get help. Most people pretending to be a police officer will be driving an unmarked car and you should be very alert to this type of car stopping you.

New Village Speed Limit

2008-06-26

The Village Public Safety committee recently proposed and it was passed by the Village Board to lower the speed limit on subdivision streets in the Village to 25 MPH. We will start enforcing this speed limit as soon as the speed limit signs arrive and they are installed. So start slowing down and make sure that you tell your teenage drivers that this is coming soon.

TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT NOTICE
The police department will be stepping up speed enforcement in the subdivisions in the Village. We have had numerous complaint's and I have instructed the Police Department to start enforcing the new speed limits in the Village. We have also just ordered two radar trailers to help with this enforcement effort.
